The transport ministry and state-run road operator Putevi Srbije have carried out a tender for building 16 green oases at existing rest areas on motorways that will be able to facilitate at least five and up to 20 EV charging stations each, with a capacity of at least 150 kW, Vesic said in a statement on its X profile over the weekend.

By the end of November, six green oases will be built, offering a total of 30 EV chargers. Thereafter, in the next five months, two green oases will be constructed monthly, bringing the overall number of new EV chargers to 80 by May 2025.

Vesic also said added that the EV chargers will be manufactured in Serbia.
