First Bus to Launch Electric Vehicle Charging Hub in UK

Xendee has released its 2024 Commercial EV Charging Market Survey, unveiling key insights into the obstacles and advancements within the sector. The survey, conducted among leaders in EV infrastructure development, identifies significant challenges hindering the expansion of commercial EV charging networks.

According to the survey, 75% of respondents identified electric utility grid limitations as a major roadblock in the deployment of commercial EV charging infrastructure. Additionally, 63% cited the high total cost of charging infrastructure as another significant barrier.

The findings underscore the critical role of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and microgrids co-located with EV charging stations. These technologies were recognized for their potential to mitigate grid congestion and enhance the efficiency of charging networks, reflecting industry priorities for sustainable energy solutions.

Moreover, legislative incentives such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) were highlighted as key drivers enabling over 80% of respondents to embark on new EV charging infrastructure projects within the next five years. These incentives play a crucial role in overcoming financial challenges and accelerating the adoption of clean energy initiatives.

Xendee intends to leverage these survey insights to further enhance its SaaS platform, providing industry stakeholders with comprehensive tools for the design, feasibility assessment, and operational management of EV charging projects. This initiative aims to bolster confidence in technical and financial projections, thereby facilitating the implementation of impactful infrastructure projects.
