NORWAY. Charging company Ionity expands in the west: 20 high power chargers occupy Sandnesporten

RAPID CHARGING IN THE WEST: Ionity's new charging station at Sandnesporten is equipped with 20 charging points of 200 kilowatts.

Ionity is on a roll a day. “In the last six months alone, we have opened 10 stations and expanded with over 160 charging points in this country,” says André Schau of the charging company.

The charging company Ionity has opened a new charging station at Sandnesporten. The charging station is equipped with 20 charging points of 200 kilowatts.

This means that there are currently 39 Ionity stations in Norway with a total of 303 charging points, all of which are at popular entry and exit routes.

The Ionity charging stations are also part of Ladeklubben and can be used with Elbilforeningen's blue charging chip both in Norway and in Europe.

“It's going to be better

“We have good coverage in Norway and it will be better. In the last six months alone, we have opened 10 stations and expanded with over 160 charging points in this country,” says André Schau, who is responsible for Ionity in Norway.

The location in central Sandnes is another step further in marking that Ionity no longer only focuses on charging for long-distance driving, as the company has shown tendencies in the past – except perhaps for the Ionity station, which was opened just before Christmas within Oslo's city limits:

“Surveys show that even more of us would choose electric cars if the charging infrastructure is good enough. Therefore, we are now investing to a greater extent in urban charging stations in addition to the major entry and exit routes, says Schau in Ionity.
